Creative Producer & Filmmaker

ABOUT

SF HARTLEY.

FILMMAKER & CREATIVE PRODUCER. London / LA.

Born in New Orleans, and raised in Lake Charles and Upstate South Carolina, SF’s childhood in the American South cultivated her hungry curiosity and obsession with the intersection of people and place.

After more than a decade creative producing for global agencies, brands and publications in New York, Los Angeles and London (including Droga5, BBH, Puma, Google, Hennessy and British Vogue), filming in 15 countries and garnering top industry accolades, SF grew compelled to tell stories that matter after volunteering at the Hackney Migrant Centre in London during the height of the migrant crisis.

In 2019 she launched her deep-dive into storytelling at the American Film Institute Conservatory’s MFA producing program in Los Angeles, where she brought female-driven stories to life, and supported Ari Aster’s production company, SQUARE PEG, in their first look television deal with A24.

Her thesis film, CARRION, executive produced by CAVIAR (THE RIDER, THE SOUND OF METAL) and led by an all-female creative team, has been showcased in 29 global festivals to date, including SFFILM, PÖFF Shorts and the Tampere Film Festival, where it was awarded Best Genre Film.

A listener, a reader, a researcher, a curator— SF brings to the table a sophisticated narrative and visual sensibility, a formidable work ethic and the ability to build authentic relationships built on respect and trust.
